What's New

Wow, when you haven't posted in a couple of months there's a lot new! But I will try to keep this brief. I think the biggest development would be that Jeff and I have a new addition to our family...no we didn't keep a pregnancy a secret for 9 months and decide to share the news of a newborn baby with you on our blog! :) Nor did we get another dog which would have been more likely to happen, but still not the case here. Even better...we have a teenage boy living with us! His name is Devin and he is one of Jeff's HS students. He's a really good kid who has run into a difficult point in his life and just needs some guidance and a place to call home. In just a couple short weeks he has made a lot of progress and things are looking good for this young man's future. To celebrate his quick turnaround in such a short time we let Devin decide what to do last Friday evening. He wanted to go bowling but first we stopped by the lake and fed the ducks.

Unfortunately, Jeff is horrible at taking pictures (he blames it on my camera) so this is the only un-blurry one of me.

We all had a really good time. Jeff and I are so proud of Devin and all the progress he has made so far. He still has a long road ahead of him but we are confident he will succeed as long as he keeps up his determination and hard work.

In other news, this weekend is an exciting weekend in the Fouquet house. Jeff has a big mma fight in Junction City on Saturday night and I have an art showing at a neighborhood art walk in Topeka on the same night...at the SAME time. Yes this means we will for the first time be missing each others events. We both made these commitments without realizing the other had plans. We decided that both are just too important for either of us to miss so we will be doing our own thing and then meeting up later to hopefully celebrate a win for both of us!
