A couple of weeks ago we decided to take a day trip to visit Grandpa and his farm. In the almost 12 years that Jeff and I have been together he had never visited Grandpa's farm! I'm so glad he finally did and I think Grandpa was too. ;)
We met in college and it was disinterest at first sight. A few twists of fate later, we had an old 80's van and had it painted black with a diagonal red stripe on either side. We spent a few years foiling corrupt corporations and bringing down international drug cartels until the van broke down. After we settled in the Australian outback, Shanon was diagnosed with a rare sleep apnea that made her breathing quite high-pitched. Because of this sound, the Aborigines called her "spectotua," which means grasshopper, and the name stuck. Her condition forced us to seek a different climate, so for years Grasshopper and I walked from town to town, meeting many kind people and helping them with our martial arts training. Through all of these travels, our pact has always been, "This is the long road, Grasshopper, and we walk the whole thing together."
If you've read this far, then you deserve to know a little: We married in June of 2002 after four years of preparation for a life together. We have two dogs that are treated better and loved more than many people's children and we live to be thoughtful, passionate, creative people.
